Hi, my name is Beatriz Perez, and I had the opportunity to go to Costa Rica during the summer of 2007 with AFS. I went to community service and while I was there, I got to know their culture, religion, life style and more. I learnedabout their traditional plate, “The Pinto” which is rice with black beans and eggs. I did community service in differentplaces. First a farm called “Flor de Paraiso”, then in “Rincon de la Vieja” (which is close to a volcano), Tucurrique city where I met my host family. During the trip I met a lot of cool people.
